Illustrated Books by Fish Coin Press
Where can you reinvigorate how you read the Bible? Fish Coin Press is a publishing studio working with artists across the globe to bring academic rigor and visual theology to Bible illustration. Their Illustrated Books series aims to present every page of the Bible illustrated one book at a time.
Fish Coin Press’ illustrated books are simply stunning. Each book features a unique illustrator, yet the entire project has a cohesive feel. The World English Bible translation is used, and it is a fitting translation for an art project being in the public domain. The modern and universal translation adds to the universal feel and appeal of the story. These books are produced with excellent quality, bound in Smyth Sewn softcover and printed with vibrant, eye-catching color.
An Artistic, Incredible Way to Explore the Bible
Come See a Man presents the story of John as illustrated by Stephen Procopio. His style is bold and surreal, with many pictures looking like they could be movie posters. They are fine drawings, detailed, and imaginative. They have a print quality and can stand alone as works of art. Mercy Unfathomed tells the story of Jonah as illustrated by Matt Chinworth. His style reminded me of comic panels, with action-oriented scenes. His were defined drawings, and moody. Under the Wings of Refuge shares Ruth as illustrated by Dorothy Leung. Her style is similar to animation panels, with soft edges and strong emotions. Simple but still emotional, her work has the feel of fine art.
Beautiful, imaginative, and compelling — these books are an artistic, incredible way to explore the Bible.
