What made the difference in achieving your creative goals?

Jess and I answered this question in our most recent episode of the SVRGN podcast. Here are the five factors we listed in making the difference when achieving our creative goals.

1. Motivation

Personal motivation is the biggest factor in achieving your goals. Do you have the passion to put in the work? You should answer this question before embarking on any artistic endeavor.

2. Deadlines

Healthy deadlines help put positive pressure on an artistic project. Having an end date brings a sense of finality and urgency to any project.

3. Time

Schedule dedicated time to work on your projects. Mark it in your calendar, give it the priority it needs, and say no when things threaten to take away your time.

4. Tools

Do you have the means to meet your goal? Money is not always a barrier to creative goals. Find ways to work on getting yourself in the right direction.

5. Collaborate

Work with others to expand your reach. Use the skills and talents of others. Have fun with others and enjoy creating something as a team.
