Epic Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Peanuts Movie. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, The Muppets). Also included is the original song Better When I’m Dancin performed by Meghan Trainor, as well a track by Flo Rida feat. Fitz and new recordings Vince Guaraldi classics. The soundtrack will be released on October 23, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

The Music of Vince Guaraldi
The music of Vince Guaraldi has been a tremendous influence on my own music and listening habits. I was never deep into jazz, but he made it catchy and accessible. When writing music, I really look up to him because he was able to improvise, play complicated passages, play with emotion, and still have a simplistic approach as well as pop-sensibility.

I think the pairing of his music with the Peanuts gang was a perfect match. As a matter of fact, I most likely would not have heard his music if it weren’t for their collaboration. I’m excited to see how Christophe Beck will treat the franchise, and I expect him to do an outstanding job. The inclusion of Meghan Trainor and Flo Rida seems a bit tacky. Yet I understand that the movie is trying to reach a different generation.

I would recommend Skating and Cast Your Fate To The Wind for anyone who wants to give Vince Guaraldi’s music a try.
