The church is supposed to be a safe place. But stories of abuse and toxic cultures can crush our hope. This is nothing new to God’s people. Israel was once plagued by a corrupt temple system.

It was filled with hypocrites, and there were plenty of prideful and power-hungry leaders. The Jews were oppressed from the inside. But Jesus came with genuine care, kindness, and compassion for God’s people.
