Broadcast To Your Built-In Audience
When I first started blogging, I was not sure who would want to read my writing. The Internet is such a huge place. So how would I be able to stand out as a beginning blogger?
Start Small
Whether you are a writer or not, we all have stories to share. And you have people that want to hear from you. You have family. You have friends. Start small and see how people respond. This is your built-in audience.
Branch Out
Your audience will grow and get bigger as you branch out in your life. When I was in school, I made new friends. When I started working, I made more friends. Being a music leader at my church means that I can share what I learned with those in our community. Being in a band means I can share some moments with those who follow the indie music scene.
Be A Missionary
I am not encouraging you to spam people. What I am saying is that there is a select group of people that you can reach due to your unique skill set and calling in life. Be a missionary to those within your reach and to those who run in the same social circles.
Take A Risk
Find your built-in audience and take the risk to tell some tales. We get enough news stories and pop-culture headlines. Publish something personal. And as Christians, we always have fresh stories to share about the overflowing grace and new mercies in our daily lives.
