Book Review Starter Kit
If you are interested in getting started with book reviews, I have three steps to recommend.
1. Blog and build an audience.
Write about anything, but start curating your focus to be about books. You can review old books, new books, books you’ve bought, or books you received as gifts. Just start writing and get some practice in writing reviews.
2. Join book launch teams.
Book launches are common for authors and publishers who want to create an impact when their book is released. It will help if you have some social media clout and can help promote their book well. You will typically be asked to leave reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.
3. Apply to blog review programs.
Many Christian publishers have blog review programs. You will need to show your subscriber and follower numbers and share why you are a good fit for a company. Be prepared to review digital copies before you ask for physical books.
